Enemies of Greatness

SETTLING: for what’s available, and what’s available isn’t always great. So many of us, including me early in my life, take whatever job or opportunity that’s there and that isn’t the best way to create the life you dream of. Settling is never in our best interest.

IGNORANCE: If we don’t know how to make something (including ourselves) great, we simply won’t. If we don’t know that greatness is possible, we won’t bother attempting it. Most people just don’t know any better, because they’ve never taken the time or used their energy to find out how to succeed. They’ve never studied the massive amount of information available regarding how to succeed in life, in business or wherever. Don’t allow ignorance to stifle you go seek the information and mentorship you need to succeed in life.

COMMITEES: Nothing destroys good or great ideas faster than a mandatory consensus. Every committee I’ve ever been a part has been for the most part a total waste of time. Everyone in the committee thinks their ideas are best and the loudest voice usually wins and that is rarely the best idea.

COMFORT: Why work hard to be great when you already have 500 channels and a recliner? In my experience virtually everyone would rather choose COMFORT instead of GREATNESS. The sad truth is comfort is the enemy of Greatness. Most of the things you must do to be great at anything requires massive amounts of discomfort because you must make many changes and very few like making those changes. Discomfort when it comes to success is your FRIEND!

MOMENTUM: If you are doing what you’ve always been doing for years and it’s not so great, you are in a rut. A lot of people call these ruts CAREERS. To create the kind of Momentum that leads to success requires massive effort on your part initially. The good news is once you get it going it’s easier to keep it going so get busy creating your MOMENTUM!

PASSIVITY: There is a difference between being agreeable and agreeing to everything. You need to trust your inner voice when it tells you that something is a bad idea. You need to speak up for what you want and what you want to do. No one is coming to your rescue, you’re the one and only person who’s going to take care of YOU!
